Lent: A Time of Discovery
I have spent the largest part of today putting together Worship Extensions for people to take on the road with them when they cannot worship with us.
We have passed through the season of Epiphany which focuses on light and revelation and have moved into Lent, but I am amazed that so many of the scriptures still deal with revelation, with "the light dawning" in people's lives about who this Jesus is and what He's all about. Live In The Light
We sang a new hymn on Sunday, "We Are Called." Singing a new hymn can be a bit nerve wracking for a pastor. There are usually folks who "don't like it," purely because it's new, and aren't afraid to say so! The following piece is a meditation on our bulletin insert for the 3rd Sunday of Advent. I think it is good to stop and consider the One for

Bad Things Happen to Good People
Sunday's sermon theme was "When Bad Things Happen to Good People." We've all been there, or know of folks who have. The Old Testament Lesson was from the book of Job, a classic when it comes to "bad things happening to good people." Because Job was "right with God," he and those around him, understood why his life was good and expected it to continue.
After all, don't we "get what we deserve," and doesn't God "repay us for how we live?" But Satan enters the picture and Job's fate
