So, how many days of heat and no rain has it been now? I've lost track. Talked with one person on Sunday who said he's quit praying for rain and is just going to combine and be done, yet our pasture could sure use a good soaking.
Isn't it amazing how we can live in the same place and have such different needs? How amazing is God that He's about tending to all of them?
I know things don't always work out as "we" envision they should, people have to quit farming, sell herds, change careers, move to different locations; life often isn't easy, or fair. Yet, we trust that God is at work in the midst of it all. Often it take "hindsight" to see how God was present and at work in difficult situations, but taking the time to "look back" and see it happening will give us trust and faith in present and future crises.
God does answer prayer, in His time and in His way, but always makes a way. For those who take the time and effort to discern His workings, it is a testimony to His loving care and a "faith building" exercise to boot.
One of our summer orders of worship: Metigoshe Liturgy, has an introduction and conclusion to the prayers of the people that goes: "God will make a way, when there seems to be no way. God works in ways we cannot see. God will make a way for me. Christ will be my guide, hold me closely to His side. With love and hope for each new day, God will make a way."
Check it out!! It's true!!
Peace,
Pastor Carol
