In the midst of the busyness of the season, remember the words "Be still and know that I am God." We are preparing for far more than the anniversary of a birth, we are preparing for the coming of our Lord and Savior Jesus the Christ. Those preparations include worship, repentance and prayer, celebration of the Eucharist to remember His promises and receive strength for the journey. Yes, it is a busy time and there are many fun-filled things we can do as part of our secular preparations for the holiday. But let us never forget that we are Christians who are also planning and preparing for a "holy day." Let us not get so caught up in the secular that we, too, forget "the reason for the season." If we celebrate no differently than non-Christians then what sort of witness do we make? Let's remember to include Christ in our Christmas plans.
Peace,
Pastor Carol
